I was wondering if car audio can effect the engine, I have a nice sound system. 1 800watt amp and 1000w amp the headlights dims when the bass is hitting hard. I was wondering if this can cause my engine to misfire or mess with my ignition system? I have a stock alternator, and a regular Duralast battery. PS the truck is a 98 blazer.
I just recently installed a system that is pushing 800W RMS to 2 12" subs. I have a 2 farad capacitor installed in between the battery and amp but I noticed that my headlights are still dimming. I feel that a 2 farad cap is more than enough. Someone told me I might need a new alternator but I’m pretty new to the car audio scene so I don’t know exactly what’s wrong. Any suggestions?
how do i know if the tension is adjusted right after i replace an alternator myself for car audio?
I have been searching the net for information over car audio systems only to have every site contradict the other about the "right" way to do a car audio set up I have an alpine pdx 1.1000 amp with two alpine type r 10′ subs Some sites claim you need a new alternator, others claim adding batteries or capacitors–I want to choose the right route with my car audio system without having to waste hard earned money on things I don’t need. any suggestions?
Can i hook up an audio system to a stock audio system? If so, how do you do it? What will i have to buy? I’m willing to pay whatever. The car i want to do this on is a stock 454 1990 Chevy SS. Will i have to go "Big 3" and what will i have to buy to make this possible? Would i have to buy an extra battery, a new alternator, and a capacitor or just one of these? |
