Incar Audio Systems

I have an 99 Acura 3.2 TL with a Bose system in it. I would like to hook up two 12inch Rockford Fosgate P3D412’s, with a amp to my car, and i have a couple questions.

1) Do i need a aftermarket head unit? From what i heard installing a new head unit in a bose system is a pain.

2) I am new to the whole car audio thing, and any general advice specific to me would be great.
